I decided to get
involved in Youth Ministry because of my concern for the young
people in the Church. Our surrounding culture has been steadily
spiraling downward for quite some time, and young people are
all too often vulnerable to the effects of a culture that
screams out against moral living and God Himself. Young people
need to be given the tools not only to stand up against the
negative aspects of our culture, but to rebuild it into a
Christian culture which respects life and has a proper understanding
of freedom as well. I hope that the opportunity to serve the
young people of my parish will instill them with a deeper
understanding and commitment to God. |

Here's a little information about
me that you might like to know. My mind is always racing a
mile a minute, although I have recently gotten better at not
letting it show. I am very passionate about God's truth and
how it is largely ignored by the world around us, particularly
by our national leaders. (In other words, do not get me started
on politics!) Since I do not trust our modern culture's current
direction (namely a downward spiral) I am also a little paranoid,
but in a fun way. You see, the Devil may have deceived a good
number of people to think like him and go along with his plan,
but God's plan is infinitely greater than anything Satan may
attempt. Therefore, I think it is kind of fun to watch the
plans of the Devil go up in smoke when good people step up
and accept God's plan for their lives. Hopefully, as a Youth
Minister, I can help others see God's will in their lives,
and help them in the right direction. |
