Weekly high school youth
group meetings Sunday evenings, 6:30-8:30 pm. Weekly
Wednesday night events: 1st Wednesday: “DIVE” (Stands
for, Doctrine, Moral Instruction, Scriptural Verse,
Papal Encyclicals!) 2nd Wednesday: “Decades” youth
group Rosary ~ 3rd Wednesday, “Chaplet of Divine
Mercy” (this popular Catholic Devotion is sung
by our Confirmation Candidates and the members of our
youth group!). Wednesday evenings end with 30 minutes of Eucharistic
Adoration and the opportunity for the Sacrament of
Confession. A.C.T.S. (A Call To Serve) Monthly service
events. “Bishop Loverde’s Respect Life
Roadies”: Monthly road trip to celebrate Mass
and pray the Rosary with the Bishop for victims of
abortion. Weekly Monday afternoon teen leader meetings
with 14 amazing young people! |

Why I am a Youth Minister
|
| |
I come from a long
line of very holy, Eastern European men and women who handed
on to me a rich spiritual dowry. From the time I was a little
child, the richness of the Catholic Faith with all its beautiful
traditions and devotions was present in our home and cultivated
in me. I grew up very close Our Lord and Our Lady and even
secretly gave myself to Jesus as His bride as a child, yet
as I approached young adulthood made some very poor decisions
causing me to detour from the path of holiness. But Christ
went in search of me, and brought me back to Him. I had once
prayed as a 10 year old before the Blessed Sacrament for
God to allow me to really love Him. The radical way that
Christ pursued me to bring me back to Him caused me to experience
an intense love affair with Him that continues to this day
~ many years later! Of course Our Blessed Mother had her
hand in drawing me back to the heart of her Son, and some
wonderful
people who had a special relationship with the Holy Spirit
as well. I am a youth minister today because I long to share
the overwhelming love and hope that comes from truly knowing
God in the Sacraments, in the teachings of the Church and
in the Mystical Body of Christ with Catholic young people
everywhere! |
